My top five predictions for trends in 2008

1. Cheque book wedding invitations (http://www.libra-designs.co.uk/weddingstationery/wedding_invitations/cambridge.html)

These fantastic invitations not only look amazing but give your guests all the information they need as well as a ready made RSVP all in one. Contact Nikki at Libra Designs for a personal and professional service. I first met Nikki at a wedding fair and she then produced an amazing invitation for one of my full planning clients last year. Brilliant service with smile!

2. Gorgeous tents outside your venue (http://www.arabiantents.com/?action=show&type=tents)

Forget plain marquees for small wedding celebrations – go Arabic and hire a gorgeous tent from Arabian tents and fill with their gorgeous jewel coloured cushions. Perfect for a lazy summer evening with a jazz band playing alongside and the garden lit with outdoor candles.

3. Big chunks of chocolate for your wedding cake (http://www.choccywoccydoodah.com/)

Choccywoccydoodah create masterpieces for your wedding cake and recently designed a cake for one of my couples that was moist chocolate cake surrounded by thick sheets of chocolate. Bliss!

4. Guestbook’s where your guest tell your story!

These are a fantastic idea – arriving in separate sheets, add a pen and leave on your guests chairs to fill out. Collect at the end of the meal and make into a fantastic keepsake book full of personal stories and memories. Your guest answers questions like – How do you know the bride and groom? – Tell a funny story about the couple and more – an excellent way of getting your guests involved and embarrassing a few people on the way!

5. Unusual favours that guests will want to keep

(http://www.aweddinglessordinary.co.uk/) This company sells amazing and unusual wedding favours that your guests will love. Match your favour to your theme or who it is intended for and find ideas such as shell bottle openers, plantable magic beans and scented bath salts all packaged to look beautiful on your tables.
